A fellow native from my home city Harrisburg, PA, sat down with me to chat about giving empath vibes through his music and the release of his latest project, ‘Searching For Something’.

This past week I had the pleasure of conducting my first ~A Conversation w/ $hi~ interview with an up and coming artist from my home city, drewtyrell. If you haven’t heard of this name yet, start to look out for it.

I consider him to be in the melodic rapper world but he has an ear for beats that will make your eyes open wide and wonder, how did he decide on this beat and hop on there like that?

During our convo, I learned that Drew is influenced by some powerful women — Erykah Badu and Missy Elliott to be exact. He also mentioned the GOAT’s Drake and Kendrick Lamar naturally.

One thing that stood out to me, was the fact that he used the word “empath” to describe his music. If you know me, you know that’s the definition of my life lol so instantly, I was curious to hear more.

When you listen… like really listen, to what drewtyrell is saying in his music, he’s saying some deep things. Like in “You” from his project, ‘7 FOR 7’ he says things like “I be smoking all these drugs but it’s feeling obsolete” which in my opinion, is opening the door to creating an organic relationship with his audience.

Now.. one thing about Drew, is he is gon’ give us some music which I also had the pleasure to learn more about his newly released project, ’Searching For Something’. (GO GRAB THAT)
